Wild Camping
Last night we slept in the most remote place I've ever been. Hundreds of miles from civilization, at the top of a mountain pass, in a turnout on the side of the road. It was wonderful. It was so perfectly quiet, except for a ruffed grouse drumming, because, of course, it was still light out when we parked just before midnight! We woke up to an incredible view. This journey is turning into the greatest adventure of my life!

Alberta, Canada
Driving through Alberta has not disappointed. Every turn reveals another beautiful vista! We do have an agenda, so we're trying not to stop too much, but...

Travel Day
Good night, Montana. I'm glad I finally got to visit! I'll be back when I have more time to explore...
This is the 2nd year in a row that I've been traveling on what would've been Dad's birthday. It seems appropriate given his love of road trips! Happy birthday, Dad. ❤️

We took a break in Fargo, North Dakota, so that Ed could stretch his legs. He ran along the Red River Trail. Parts of the trail were flooded, but he was able to run along the top of the levee in those areas. I had to climb it so that I could get a picture. Whew! That was steep. It's a beautiful evening, though, so it was worth it!

Happy Mother's Day
What a whirlwind of a weekend! After an early trip to Standish to work on the house cleanup, we surprised Ed's mom with dinner & a movie Saturday afternoon - we laughed, we cheered, and we cried. It was a great show!
Nate has wanted to show Ed where Devil's Den is for ages, so we went for a hike on North Mountain. Of course, Ed has no more interest in going inside a cave than I do, but we're always up for a hike! We couldn't figure out why the ravens were making such a ruckus, until we continued back down the trail under the cliffs - their nest is on the other side!
I also made sure to squeeze in a quick visit to the cemetery to plant dahlias for Mom. I'm glad I can still do this one little thing for her.
